Poly-bagging is one of the most common FBA prep requirements — and one of the most frequently done wrong. Here's Amazon's exact requirements for poly-bagging, and how QuickShipment handles it for you.

Which Products Require Poly-Bagging?

Amazon requires poly-bagging for products that:

  • Have loose parts or components that could fall out
  • Are made of soft materials (fabric, plush, textiles)
  • Contain loose small items (accessories, hardware, crafts)
  • Are liquid or semi-liquid products in non-sealed containers
  • Could be contaminated if exposed during warehouse handling

Poly Bag Specifications

  • Thickness: minimum 1.5 mil
  • Must be transparent so the FNSKU barcode is scannable through the bag
  • Must be sealed completely (heat-sealed or self-sealing)
  • Opening must be no larger than 5 inches (12.7 cm) in any direction, OR must have suffocation warning

Suffocation Warning Requirements

Any poly bag with an opening larger than 5 inches must carry the following warning:

"WARNING: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use this bag in cribs, beds, carriages or playpens."

The text must be in 10pt font or larger and printed in English. If your product is sold internationally, you may need to include translations too.

FNSKU Visibility

The FNSKU label must be scannable through the poly bag. If the bag is opaque or the product inside covers the barcode, you must apply the FNSKU to the outside of the bag.

QuickShipment's Poly-Bagging Service
