Amazon has specific requirements for fragile products sent to FBA. Bubble wrapping protects items in transit and during warehouse handling — and getting it wrong leads to damage claims and costly returns.
Which Products Require Bubble Wrap?
- Glass items (vases, bottles, mirrors, frames)
- Ceramic or porcelain products
- Electronics with fragile screens or components
- Any product marked "Fragile" by the manufacturer
- Items Amazon categorizes as breakable in their prep guidelines
Bubble Wrap Specifications
- Minimum 3 inches of bubble wrap on all sides
- Must be taped closed — no loose ends
- Product must not shift inside the wrap when shaken
- FNSKU label must be visible (place on flat surface of wrapped item)
- Apply a "Fragile" sticker on the outer wrap when required
💡 QuickShipment wraps fragile items for $0.90/unit. Our team identifies fragile products on arrival and applies appropriate protection — no special instructions required for standard fragile categories.
Drop Test Standard
Amazon expects bubble-wrapped products to survive a 3-foot drop test without damage. If your product is particularly fragile, consider double-boxing — wrapping the item, placing in an inner box with additional padding, then placing in the shipping carton.
