Getting your products into Amazon's fulfillment centers without rejection requires meeting dozens of specific requirements — from labeling to packaging to documentation. This checklist covers every step.

Before You Ship

  • Confirm your product is eligible for FBA (check Amazon's restricted products list)
  • Verify ASIN is active and listing is complete
  • Confirm your supplier's carton dimensions and weights
  • Check if your product requires special prep (poly bag, bubble wrap, etc.)
  • Verify your supplier is shipping to our Claymont, Delaware address

Labeling Requirements

Every unit sent to Amazon must have an FNSKU (Fulfillment Network SKU) label. This is different from the manufacturer barcode — Amazon requires their own scannable label on every unit.

  • FNSKU label must be placed to cover any existing barcodes
  • Label size must be at least 1" x 2" (or readable by Amazon scanners)
  • Print labels in black ink on white, non-reflective background
  • Do not place labels on folds, edges, or curved surfaces
  • Suffocation warning required on all poly bags larger than 5 inches

💡 Pro tip: QuickShipment handles all FNSKU labeling for $0 additional charge (included in our per-unit prep fee). We stay current with all Amazon labeling updates.

Packaging Requirements

  • Poly-bag products with loose parts, soft goods, or liquids
  • Bubble-wrap fragile items with glass, ceramic, or brittle materials
  • Bundle multi-packs must be clearly marked "Sold as Set — Do Not Separate"
  • No loose material, foam, or styrofoam peanuts (Amazon restricts these)
  • Products with expiration dates must have dates clearly visible

Carton Labeling

  • Each carton must have an Amazon Shipment ID label (generated in Seller Central)
  • Label must be placed on the largest flat surface
  • Remove or cover any existing retailer barcodes on cartons
  • Carton weight must not exceed 50 lbs unless single-item

Shipment Creation in Seller Central

  • Go to Inventory > Manage FBA Shipments > Create Shipment
  • Choose "Individual products" or "Case packed products"
  • Enter quantity per case (if case packed)
  • Select your prep provider's address as ship-from location
  • Review Amazon's assigned fulfillment center(s)
  • Generate and print carton labels
  • Send the shipment plan to your prep center
